works with sdhc. read speed is about 30mb/s. solid built, but the cap isn't too tight, and it is easy to lost the cap. 4 stars because of the cap.

Summary: "Piece of junk. Never worked - Twice."

The price is right. Too bad it doesn't work.

I bought a new SD/HC chip for my smartphone and needed a reader. The seller of this device said it would work with the new format. The first one did not. I contacted Transcend and they gave me return authorization (the postage was more than the product retailed for). The second one arived days later, and it didn't work either.

Finally, I took both the Sandisk micro SD/HC card and the Transcend reader to the local Geek Squad and asked if they could tell me which on was faulty. It wasn't the Sandisk. I walked out of there, having spent five times what the Transcend product cost, but now I can use the chip in my phone and the frustration cycle of trying to make something that doesn't work, work, is over.

Summary: "Great, Simple Reader"

I bought this item mainly as an SD-reader, and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality and simplicity. It works great and, as you can tell from the pictures, is small and sleek as well. It has given me much better transfer speeds than my old digital camera and I think anyone looking for a nice portable reader should pick this one up, especially considering it's selling for practically nothing.
